Why are there no "winks" on the site to show interest into someone?

Though "winks" can be flattering, we feel that for our most popular members they are mostly an annoyance. Like on too many sites, they would receive so many of them that they often won’t even look at the profiles of the people who sent them. Free "winks" would also be a way for potential scammers or not serious people to entice you to send them an email. We want to make the experience as good as possible for all of our members so we don’t have "winks".

Does the person I added as a favourite get notified of it?

No, if you add someone as a favourite they won’t get notified for the same reasons as above about not allowing "winks". Favourites only appear in your favourite list to allow you to easily find someone you like but didn’t have time to email on your previous visit(s).

How do you ensure that people are genuine?

Every profile is checked manually with several tools helping us to identify the most suspicious profiles to be checked in priority. First we block the access to the site from countries we don’t operate in. Then we use keywords to flag suspicious profiles to be checked in priority. Finally pictures are also checked to see if they are genuine. If you feel that we might have missed a fake profile, you can click the link "Report Profile" and we will get notified to check the profile as a high priority. As a general rule, profiles with lots of grammar and spelling mistakes or sounding too good to be true are more likely to be written by people who are not genuine. We would advise to refrain from contacting someone with no picture and no text on their profile.

I have sent an email to a profile that has been subsequently deleted because it wasn’t genuine. Do I get a refund?

You can’t get a refund but the email (and gift if any) will be credited back to your account according to its type in the top right "emails" (remaining) box. You can then use it to write a first email to someone else without any time limit. There is also no time limit to how long after writing to the now deleted fake profile.

How do I know that people are not just here to get credits?

Let’s be clear, we want our members to have the best possible experience on our site. While we believe that our site has features that make it particularly appealing to a certain gender compared to other sites, we also want to ensure the highest level of trust to our members. That’s why there is a special rule for users to be able to redeem their credits towards a shopping voucher: they must have had at least one significant exchange with another user on the site. If they haven’t, an email refusing their request to redeem their credits will be sent to remind them of this rule but they will keep their credits.

I found someone and want to take a break, how do I suspend my profile?

Go to “My Profile” and click the button “suspend my Profile”. When your profile is suspended you can come back to reactivate it at any time. If you have forgotten your password, click the link "I forgot my password" and follow the instructions to get it back.

How long does it take to receive my voucher after redeeming my credits?

After you request to redeem your credits for a voucher, we will check that you have had at least one significant exchange with a member of the site before validating the request and starting the process of getting your voucher. This can take up to 48 hours. The vouchers will be sent to your registered email address.

What information do you keep about me?

  • To register you need to supply:
    • Gender / Looking For
    • D.O.B.
    • Country
    • ZIP/Postcode
    • Display Name on your profile
    • An anonymous Email Address
    • Password
  • If the user purchases a subscription / makes a payment then we will store the billing address details. We do not store any card details on our site.
  • Other personal characteristics can be set by the user to complete their profile.
  • We don't store your personal names (nor do we ever want to know them)
